Assemblies

The BV PTA organizes various assemblies during the school day.  Past assemblies included theatrical and musical performances.   Local authors have visited the school, read to our children and talked about the joys of reading and writing.

Disaster Preparedness

The BV PTA contributes to preparing our school in the event of a disaster by purchasing emergency supplies. PTA volunteers work with the school's safety committed to coordinate a smooth response in the event of a disaster.

Hospitality

The BV PTA tries to make our parents feel welcome and comfortable.  We organize a Welcome Back Lunch for the teachers and a Welcome Back Breakfast for the parents.  We also provide refreshments and childcare at all of our meetings.

Nature Area/Gardens

There is a world outside our classrooms, and it is not just playgrounds and sidewalks.  The BV PTA, in conjunction with private organizations, maintain the nature area and various gardens around our school.

Read Across America

In celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday, BV PTA sponsors Read Across America Day. On this day, local dignitaries, athletes and other members of the community share their joy of reading with our children.

Reader's Night

Twice a year, children are invited to school in their pajamas and sleeping bags to read each other.

Red Ribbon Week

BV PTA supports national Red Ribbon Week with a variety of events to educate children about making healthy choices.

Reflections

Reflections is a program sponsored by the State PTA to encourage our children to create.  Each year, the children are asked to write, draw, compose or photograph about a selected topic.  

Science Fair

In the spring, the BV PTA hosts a Science Fair.  The Science Fair is a great opportunity for our young Einstein's to dabble in the art of Science.

TV Turn Off Week

The BV PTA supports National TV Turn Off Week by encouraging our children to turn off their TVs and turn on to other activities.

Young Authors

The BV PTA purchase materials for the teachers to showcase our children's writing talents.

Welcome Back Days

The BV PTA works with our school administration to coordinate Back To School registration for our kids.  We prepare the Welcome Back packets and organize the Welcome Back Days.
