BOGO Book Fair

BOGOBOGO Book Fair is Coming to BV!

Scholastic’s Buy One, Get One Free Book Fair is coming to Buena Vista. For every book purchased, you get another book of equal or lesser value FREE.   We are scheduled early with Scholastic this year, so should get a terrific selection of books.  This is a great opportunity to stock up for summer reading!

The Book Fair will be open Tuesday through Thursday, March 16, 17 and 18, from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the Library.

 
Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten

Spring is just around the corner and with it comes our kindergarten registration for Fall, 2010. We will be registering during the week of March 15th through 26th and setting appointments again this year.  To be eligible to enter kindergarten, a child must be 4 years and 9 months of age as of September 1, 2010. This means that he or she must have been born on or before December 2, 2005.

Starting February 16th , you may call the school office at 944-6822 to schedule your appointment with Cyndi. After an appointment has been set, you can pick up a registration packet on or after March 1st. These forms must be filled out and brought to the appointment along with the following items.

12th Annual Buena Vista Family K-5 Science Fair

Date Changed: Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in the Multi-Use Room 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Deadline for entry is Friday, April 2nd

The purpose of the Science Fair is to encourage students to develop a greater interest in science and technology and to develop skills in critical thinking, research, problem solving and the use of the Scientific Method.

Measure A

Yes on Measure A LogoThe Accalanes Union High School District emergency parcel tax on the May 4, 2010 Ballet.

Measure A is an emergency parcel tax ($112) that will raise the local funds needed to avoid severe cuts to core academic programs, including science and mathematics, at our four local high schools - Accalanes, Campolindo, Las Lomas and Miramonte.  Measure A must win a two-thirds majority.  This is a mail-in only election and all ballots must be received at the county election office by May 4, 2010.

An exemption to Measure A will be offered to residents 65 and older who own and occupy a home in the district.
