Spring is just around the corner and with it comes our kindergarten registration for Fall, 2010. We will be registering during the week of March 15^th through 26^th and setting appointments again this year.  To be eligible to enter kindergarten, a child must be 4 years and 9 months of age as of September 1, 2010. This means that he or she must have been born on or before December 2, 2005.

Starting February 16^th , you may call the school office at 944-6822 to schedule your appointment with Cyndi. After an appointment has been set, you can pick up a registration packet on or after March 1^st. These forms must be filled out and brought to the appointment along with the following items.

To prepare for Registration please have ready:

Your child's original birth certificate (or hospital certificate, passport, naming certificate - some official document that shows date of birth). We examine the evidence, verify age, copy them and return papers to you.

• Lease agreement, Mortgage Statement or Real Estate Tax Bill

• Current P G & E bill

• One other bill with your address on them (EBMUD, Telephone, Cable, Drivers License)

Our state requires that parents provide verification of children's immunizations for polio, measles, DPT, rubella, mumps, and hepatitis B. You must produce proof of chicken pox disease or varicella immunization. We must see a document, signed by a nurse of doctor that states the complete dates of immunizations. The California Card is acceptable.

NO CHILD WILL BE REGISTERED UNLESS IMMUNIZATION INFORMATION IS PRESENTED TO THE REGISTRAR.

You must bring all the requested documents to your appointment. Without these, we will have to reschedule your appointment - No Exceptions.

If you already have an older student enrolled at Buena Vista and would like to get a Kindergarten registration packet to fill out at home prior to your appointment, we will have those ready for you on March 1, 2010.

The School District invites Pre-K parents to a Kindergarten Orientation night at Walnut Creek Intermediate school in the Library on Thursday, February 18^th at 7:00pm. Parents who have attended this in the past have said that it was very helpful. For more information please click here.
